GALLERAKI COCKTAIL BAR
One of the most atmospheric cocktail bars in Mykonos, Galleraki perches right above the sea and lies in the middle of Little Venice.
Galleraki Cocktail Bar, is housed in a double-storied building which dates since the latter part of the 1800s. From there the view encompasses the Windmills and Little Venice as well. It is a classic example of the traditional architecture found in the Cyclades.
In 1989, the owner Damianos Gryparis turned the first floor into a bar, which was called Gallery, owing to the fact that the owner, Yannis Galatis had used it as an art gallery. In 1992, he moved to the ground floor, and as the place was much smaller, he named it Galleraki (small gallery). Its position and the unique sunset, inspired him to turn it into a cocktail bar.
Galleraki opens in the morning so is the ideal place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Later in the afternoon it becomes an exciting cocktail bar from where you can watch the setting sun sipping your cocktail. Very relaxed, funky and casual ambient where the bar gets buzzing and the console shifts smoothly from reggae to pop and rock.
Go for candlelit seating on the balcony, overlooking the water, and choose one of the excellent signature cocktails made with fresh fruits. The champagne cocktails are pricier but worth the splurge. Make sure to order a “Katerinaki”, the famous cocktail of Galleraki whose recipe remains secret to date!
