CALLISTA CRAFTS
Eleni Konstantinidis and Celia Sigalou are the forces behind the sophisticated brand Callista Crafts. Their success story started in Mykonos: it was in Summer 2013, after a chance encounter on the islands airport (Eleni was carrying the very first bag, a friend of her saw the bag and placed instantly the first order – in the next two hours they received eight more orders). In they own words: “It started with luck and we became a company”.
A few months earlier and after much searching, a very simple idea crossed their minds: Eleni and Celia wanted to design a different woman’s bag, their own personal dream bag and started with no budget, stuff of one and a single bag style. The rest is history (in 2016 the first Callista Crafts flagship store opened on Voukourestiou Street in Athens and one year later in Mykonos).
The Callista products are simple, look effortlessly stylish with a timeless design and have become instantly recognizable in a very short time -the crochet handle with the hand-stitched seams using the specific technique called “Greek leather cord” (which the brand registered at the European Patent Office) serves as the logo on the logo-less bags. The 100% handmade bags are made of premium Italian leather and all its production is done in Greece.
